Preregistration Programme

At Lloydspharmacy, our preregistration programme is aimed at preparing you for a long and rewarding career as a pharmacist.

Our preregistration programme is developed by experienced pharmacists within the Learning & Development team to ensure it is current, flexible, aligned to meet your needs and most importantly to help you prepare for the RBSGB registration exam.

Training starts with an induction that will introduce you to our business, to the preregistration programme, as well as enabling you to meet other preregistration trainee pharmacists and members of the regional team.

The programme itself that follows is made up of distinct components and is designed to dovetail with the RPSGB performance standards:

Practical pharmacy based training
Working closely under the supervision of your tutor, you will put the theory that you have acquired in your undergraduate studies, into practice. You will spend time working alongside the pharmacy team to gain experience in all areas of community pharmacy. This will support your personal & professional development and help you to achieve the required standards.

Off the job development
Off the job development days are designed to enhance your understanding of professional, clinical and commercial topics. Each development day includes a variety of activities which encourage interaction, discussion, and reflection to enable you to maximise learning. These days are also a great opportunity for you to build relationships and network with your colleagues.

Pre & post course work forms a vital component of these days and provides you with great opportunity to start putting your learning into practice, with support from your tutor.

In addition to the above, you will be provided with:

  • Self study workbooks, which enable you to focus your learning on those areas that you identify as being critical to your development.
  • Structured assignments, which include GP/ Nurse Visit, completion of an audit project, MUR accreditation, and much more.

All components are complimentary and are developed to ensure you are prepared for your role as a qualified pharmacist.  In addition, we consistently achieve a registration exam pass rate above national average.
