Description How to Use Ingredients Delivery & Returns

Proguanil Hydrochloride tablets 100mg / Chloroquine Phosphate tablets 250mg

Each blister strip contains 2 Avloclor tablets and 14 Paludrine tablets.

To help prevent malaria.

DOSAGE:

Adults: Two Avloclor tablets should be taken once a week, on the same day each week. Two Paludrine tablets should be taken daily.

Children: Do not give to children under 1 year of age. The following single dose of Avloclor should be taken once a week on the same day each week, and the following single dose of Paludrine should be taken daily.

1 to 4 years: Avloclor (on the same day each week) Half a tablet.Paludrine (at the same time each day) Half a tablet.

5 to 8 years: Avloclor (on the same day each week) One tablet. Paludrine (at the same time each day) One tablet.

9 to 14 years: Avloclor (on the same day each week) One and a half tablets. Paludrine (at the same time each day) One and a half tablets.

Adults and Children: You should start the pack (taking both types of tablet) one week before entering the malarious area and continue during your stay and for 4 weeks after leaving the area.

Swallow the tablet (or part tablet) whole with a drink of water, after food. For a young child, the dose may be given crushed and mixed with milk, honey or jam.

Take medical advice on which antimalarial drugs are appropriate. Before taking your medicine, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you:

Are allergic to Chloroquine Phosphate or any of the ingredients;

Are taking other medicines, including any you have bought;

Have ever had problems with your liver or kidneys;

Have ever been told you have Porphyria (rare disease of blood pigment) or anyone in your family has it;

Have epilepsy, or a history of convulsions or fits;

Have psoriasis (a scaly condition of the skin);

Are breast-feeding, pregnant or suspect you are pregnant.

If you become ill when visiting a malarious area or even up to one year after returning home seek medical advice.

Storage

Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children.

do not store above 30°C. Store in the original package.

 

Each Paludrine tablet contains Proguanil Hydrochloride 100mg. Each Avloclor tablet contains Chloroquine Phosphate 250mg (equivalent to 155mg of Chloroquine base as the active ingredient).
