If you have regular NHS prescription medication or a repeat prescription, then our repeat prescription service may be more suited to you.

We understand that collecting prescription medication can be time consuming.

That’s why, to save you a trip to the pharmacy, we can deliver your NHS prescription medication to wherever’s convenient for you. We’ll ensure that your medication is delivered to you within 7 days, FREE of charge.

 

Receiving your NHS prescription medication

Following your consultation with your GP, you will need to take the steps below to enable us to communicate with your GP and issue your medication in a safe and timely manner.

Nominate LloydsPharmacy as your online pharmacy with your GP or at your local LloydsPharmacy (England only)

Register for a LloydsPharmacy account to enable you to notify us of the medication that has been prescribed

Find your medication online, add it to your basket and check out

Once your GP has electronically sent your prescription to our pharmacy team we will dispense your medication (England only). Or, if you have a signed valid NHS prescription you can post it to us.*

Don’t forget, your prescription must be from a UK registered prescriber (like your GP).

Once we’ve received your NHS prescription and you have followed the steps above, we’ll dispense and deliver your medication FREE to a UK address of your choice.

Delivering your prescription is safe and secure. For your peace of mind, we’ll send your prescription via Royal Mail 48 hour signed for delivery. And if you’re not in, you can choose a nominated person (aged 16 or over) to sign for it.

 

NHS prescriptions FAQs

 

These are prescriptions which are not regularly prescribed to you by your GP.

 

 

At your GP’s surgery or your local LloydsPharmacy, you can nominate LloydsPharmacy as your online pharmacy (England only). Once you have nominated us as your online pharmacy, your GP will electronically send your prescription to us via EPS. Or if you have a printed paper NHS prescription you can post it our pharmacy team (from England, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man or Northern Ireland).

Your NHS prescription must be prescribed to you by a healthcare practitioner from England, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man or Northern Ireland. Please note, we must receive your prescription before we can dispense and send out your medication.

 

 

For prescriptions originating from England, unless you are NHS exempt, you will have to pay for your NHS prescription medicines. For up to date exemptions and NHS prescription costs in England and more information, click here.

Please note that as our Online Pharmacy is based in England, English prescription charge rules must be followed for prescriptions originating from Scotland, Wales or Isle of Man.

Prescriptions from Northern Ireland carry no prescription charges.

 

 

Delivery is FREE via Royal Mail 48 hour signed for delivery to a UK address of your choice.

 

 

Once we receive your prescription either in paper or electronic format, it can take up to 48 hours for us to dispense your medication.

We use Royal Mail 48 hour signed for delivery to deliver your medication to you for FREE and this can take 3-5 days.

 

 

All deliveries must be signed for by you or a nominated person who are 16 years old or over.

If no one is available to receive your delivery, Royal Mail will let you know how to rearrange delivery or collection.

 

 

The LloydsPharmacy Online prescription service is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) to dispense your prescription medication and is located at C/O AAH Pharmaceuticals, ‘Lower Mezzanine’, Woburn Road, Warrington, WA2 8UH. The GPhC registered premises number is 9011003.

In some instances your prescription medication may be assembled through our automated prescription assembly site, which is also based at Warrington (C/O AAH Pharmaceuticals, Woburn Road, Winwick Quay, Warrington, Cheshire, WA2 8UH). However, this is registered with the GPhC as a separate registered premises, 1094181.

Medication that needs to be stored in the fridge can be dispensed by LloydsPharmacy Online. Once your prescription has been received from your GP, the Pharmacy team will contact you to confirm an appropriate day for signed for delivery, to ensure the medication is received and can be transferred to your fridge for storage in a timely manner.

A prescription for a controlled drug (schedule 2 or 3 requiring safe storage) will need to be dispensed from a local pharmacy of your choice. If the Online pharmacy team receive a prescription from your GP, they will contact you to confirm where you would like your prescription to be sent to locally and liaise with the local pharmacy team to ensure your prescription can be fulfilled appropriately.
