If you have been issued a private prescription from your doctor or prescribing healthcare professional, you can have your medication dispensed by us.
We’re here to make receiving your medicine as simple as possible, as we understand that finding the time to collect medication can be difficult.
That’s why you can request your medicines to be dispensed online in the comfort of your home and get them delivered straight to your chosen UK address within 7 days for free.

Once we have received your private prescription it can take up to 48 hours for us to dispense your medication. We must receive your prescription before we can dispense and deliver your medication for free via Royal Mail which may take 3-5 working days. Therefore, if you require your prescription medication urgently please contact your local LloydsPharmacy. The delivery must be signed for by yourself or a nominated representative over 16 years old.

One-off private prescription help and support
These are prescriptions that are issued following a private consultation with a doctor to treat a particular medical condition. If the doctor issues a prescription you can request for the medicines to be dispensed once you have created an online account with us or by visiting your local LloydsPharmacy.
When ordering private prescriptions online there are charges which apply, please be aware that the price for each private prescription item is unique and therefore has its own cost. The charge applied to private medicines varies depending on the type of medicine, this will be displayed once the item has been selected and added to your basket.
All private prescription items have a minimum order value of £7.00, meaning that if you’re prescribed medication totals less than £7.00 you will still be charged this amount as a minimum. Find out more about private prescription pricing here.
Your private prescription is valid for 6 months from the date on your paper prescription. This also applies to NHS prescriptions, but the validation date will be different if you are prescribed controlled drugs.
Delivery is offered for free via Royal Mail signed for service to a UK address of your choice.
It can take 3-5 days for us to receive your paper prescription when it is sent to FREEPOST J B & C DISPENSARY. Once we have received your prescription it can take up to 48 hours for us to dispense your medication. Not if you are using our online prescription service from Echo by LloydsPharmacy to receive repeat NHS prescriptions and one-off NHS prescriptions which have already been prescribed. Medication delivered by Echo is sent through your letterbox in tamper-free packaging. In the unlikely event that your medication doesn’t fit, Royal Mail will leave details for collection or redelivery.
If you have been prescribed private medication by LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor and requested LloydsPharmacy to deliver your private prescription, or if you have ordered a one-off private prescription via the LloydsPharmacy website then this delivery must be signed for by you, or a nominated representative who is 16 years old or over. If no one is available to receive your delivery, then Royal Mail will let you know how you can rearrange delivery or collection.

Your private prescription should be written in ink and be easily read (legible), to be valid they also must be signed with ink, however other details can be printed. Legally the private prescription requires the date of the prescription issue, the name and address of the person who the prescription is for, the address of the prescription prescriber and their professional status and qualifications (e.g. doctor, pharmacist etc.). The age of the patient is also required if they are under 12 years old.

If you’re over the age of 18, it’s simple to receive your repeat prescription online through Echo by LloydsPharmacy. Firstly, you’ll need to download the Echo app on iOS or Android, or sign-up at Echo by LloydsPharmacy.
During the sign-up process you’ll be able to create an account, add your GP surgery and set a home address. You can then add the repeat prescription medication you need so that Echo can contact your GP on your behalf to start ordering your medication. Through the Echo repeat prescription service you can continue to benefit from free reminders and delivery.
