Repeat prescription service FAQs

Our NHS Repeat Prescription service and delivery is FREE, although you will have to pay for your NHS prescription medicines, unless you are NHS exempt. For up to date NHS exemptions and prescription costs click here.

We suggest that you place your order 7-10 days before you need your medication to arrive. This allows time for your GP to authorise the prescription(s), our pharmacy team to dispense your medication and Royal Mail to deliver it.

We will send your prescription request to your GP. Once we’ve received your prescription, it can take up to 48 hours for us to dispense and then dispatch your medication. Deliveries will then be made to your chosen address within 48 hours.

All deliveries must be signed for by you, or a nominated representative who is 16 years old or over. If no one is available to receive your delivery, Royal Mail will let you know how you can rearrange delivery or collection.

NHS repeat prescription medicines are delivered to your chosen UK address FREE via the Royal Mail 48-hour signed for service.

We use the NHS England Electronic Prescription Service to receive your prescription(s) electronically from your GP. Therefore, this service is not available in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands or Isle of Man.

The Electronic Prescription Service is an NHS service that allows your GP to electronically send your repeat prescription(s) directly to your chosen pharmacy.

EPS also allows you to nominate our online pharmacy so there’s no need to visit your local pharmacy or GP to collect a repeat prescription.

The LloydsPharmacy Online prescription service is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) to dispense your prescription medication and is located at C/O AAH Pharmaceuticals, ‘Lower Mezzanine’, Woburn Road, Warrington, WA2 8UH. The GPhC registered premises number is 9011003.

In some instances your prescription medication may be assembled through our automated prescription assembly site, which is also based at Warrington (C/O AAH Pharmaceuticals, Woburn Road, Winwick Quay, Warrington, Cheshire, WA2 8UH). However, this is registered with the GPhC as a separate registered premises, 1094181.

We have a responsible pharmacist present at all times to oversee the dispensing of your medication. Please do not hesitate to contact them on 01925 423380 should you have any queries about your dispensed medication.

Medication that needs to be stored in the fridge can be dispensed by LloydsPharmacy Online. Once your prescription has been received from your GP, the Pharmacy team will contact you to confirm an appropriate day for signed for delivery, to ensure the medication is received and can be transferred to your fridge for storage in a timely manner.

A prescription for a controlled drug (schedule 2 or 3 requiring safe storage) will need to be dispensed from a local pharmacy of your choice. If the Online pharmacy team receive a prescription from your GP, they will contact you to confirm where you would like your prescription to be sent to locally and liaise with the local pharmacy team to ensure your prescription can be fulfilled appropriately.
