In February 2001, Lloydspharmacy launched the Lloydspharmacy Charitable Fund which is independently managed by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and is separate from the pharmacy business. In September 2010 Lloydspharmacy also launched the Lloydspharmacy community charitable donations and sponsorship initiative to help support and make a real difference to communities at a local level.
Our Focus
As the UK’s leading community pharmacy, the health and wellbeing of our customers is our top priority.
The Lloydspharmacy Charitable Fund primarily supports charities which have a beneficial impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Rather than trying to support many charities during the course of the year, we have made a commitment to one National Charity Partner.
We display information about our National Charity Partner throughout our pharmacies along with their collection boxes and encourage our employees to take part in national and local events to raise funds and awareness for the National Charity Partner.
We have taken this streamlined approach because we believe that this is the best way for us to establish a mutually beneficial partnership and make a real and lasting difference to the charities we support and the people with whom they work.
Our policy, therefore, is not to support general requests for donations for vouchers or money.

Poppy Appeal
In addition to the National Charity Partner scheme, Lloydspharmacy supports the Royal British Legion with the Poppy Appeal. This cause is well recognised by our customers and our own people and we will continue to support it in 2011/12.
National Charity Partner
We are pleased to be working alongside the British Heart Foundation as our National Charity Partner. The BHF is the nation’s heart charity, committed to saving lives through pioneering research, patient care and vital information and Lloydspharmacy is delighted to be able to contribute to the fundraising for such a valuable cause.
Heart health is one of our areas of expertise and we want to continue to highlight the importance of maintaining a healthy heart and partnering with BHF will help us do that.
Corporate sponsorship
As part of our corporate sponsorship support we are proud to be the official healthcare partner of Coventry City Football Club and will be the main sponsor of the Sky Blues’ Good Sports school scheme.
Lloydspharmacy community charitable donations and sponsorship criteria
To ensure that any donation we make helps as many people as possible and has a long-term benefit, below you will find some guidelines on what we are able to consider as part of our donations / sponsorship policy.
We will consider requests that meet the following criteria:
- Projects which support local communities that help improve the local community's health and wellbeing.
- Donations must have a wide benefit ensuring a good number of people can be impacted by the funding.
- Priority will be given to children, the elderly and adults / children with disabilities, living in the local communities around our pharmacies in the UK.
