The Acclaim VE is a non-turning mattress developed for patients at high risk of developing pressure ulcers and has been engineered to work at a higher than normal standard when used in conjuncture with a profiling bed.
By introducing Visco Elastic 'Darts' into the sidewalls of the support foam, at the back and knee break points, this mattress has been engineered as a solution to counter the damaging squashing and stretching characteristics usually associated with the profiling process. 'Scalloped' channels cut through the base of the support foam, further aid the process.
The 'U' frame, which supports the VE foam is manufactured from construction foam and has a density of 38-40kg/m3. By introducing an angled edge to the internal part of the frame, rather than a standard verticle edge to the U shape, the Acclaim VEhas strengthened the wall without reducing the dynamic properties of the material.
Foam engineering skills have been particularly well utilised in the manufacture of the multiple layered mattress area. It is constructed from three grades of Visco Elastic Foam, including a special softer grade for the vulnerable heel area. This mattress is also available as the Acclaim VE Classic, designed for use with the longer length beds.

Carrying handles have been introduced to aid moving and handling and a 35 stone weight loading has been set for the mattress. The introduction of a non-slip strip to the lower base area of the mattress aids stability on the bed and a zip covering three sides of the product makes access for inspection easier than ever.
Internal inspection, for strike through is further aided through the addition of a white underside to the outer, two-way stretch, vapour permeable and waterproof top cover.
